Creative Arts Summer Session

Our Summer programs encourage and support the creative process through quality art instruction and a hands-on studio approach in drawing, painting, printmaking, claywork and pottery.

Classes are designed to develop age appropriate creative skills along with  an appreciation of different world cultures and the natural environment.   PRINT BROCHURE and APPLICATION

CLASSES

Folk Art
Students will explore the traditional folk art of Africa, Asia and the Americas using found objects, wire, wood and natural materials to create sculptures, collages and other art works. Puppetry, bead making and textiles will be introduced.
Tuesday or Wednesday 9:30-11:30
1 to 4 week sessions $24/class

Art Exploration
In a fun and camp-like atmosphere, the kids will create original works of art. They will work in several different media and themes: clay, mosaics, collage, charcoal, pastel and watercolor. Snack breaks and games are part of the fun!
Monday, Thursday and Friday 9:30-11:30
1 to 4 week sessions $72/week

World Art
This class will provide students with the opportunity to learn about the art and traditions of various cultures while creating their own art work. The children will draw, paint, and work with clay.
Tuesday or Thursday 3:30-4:45
1 to 4 week sessions $22/class

Pottery & Pizza
An all-time favorite! Open to all skill levels. Tiles, sculpture and pottery will be made, carved, glazed and fired. Each class will end with pizza, soda and fun!
Tuesday or Thursday 5:00-6:30
2 to 4 week sessions $28/week

For Teens & Adults

Clay Experience
Open to all skill levels and structured for teens and adults. Develop an appreciation and practical knowledge of hand-building methods, and as time allows, throwing on the wheel. The class will consist of instruction and demonstration, followed by adequate time to work on your own.
Monday and Friday 3:00-5:00
2 to 4 week sessions $48/week

Pottery & Pizza
For all age levels! Work on tiles, sculpture and pottery that will be fired and glazed. Each class will end with pizza, soda and a promise for a good time!
Tuesday or Thursday 5:00-6:00
